Academic Advising Webinar Series Sponsored by NACADA - The Global Community for Advising, IASAS - The International Association of Student Affairs and Services.

 

This is a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from around the world, gain fresh perspectives, and contribute to a more global understanding of academic advising. The first session will focus on what academic advising entails at your institution and in your country or region. We will explore its purposes, approaches, and structures. There will be three additional sessions scheduled for a later date. However, attending each one is not mandatory.

 

Fee: There is no charge for this event. It is sponsored by NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising and the International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS).

Purposes – What are the aims of academic advising?

Approaches – What models and methods are commonly used?

Structures – How is advising organized within institutions?

Second Session

Who Influences and Oversees Advising at Your Institution or Within Your Country? (Policy)​

This session will examine.

Governance – Who sets the policies and guidelines for advising?

Influences – What external and internal forces shape advising practices?

 Accountability – How is advising oversight structured?

Third Session

How is the Impact of Advising Documented? (Research & Assessment)

We will discuss.

Impact – How is advising effectiveness measured?

Context – What institutional and cultural factors shape assessment?

Theory – What frameworks guide research on advising?
