The IASAS Student Leader Global Summit is an annual event that provides a global platform to bring student leaders from different parts of the world together to discuss student governance, leadership, mental health and wellbeing, or other topics of shared interest. ​
Learning Outcomes

Pay the necessary registration fee of 280 Euros after you have been selected as a participant. The fee will cover accommodations and food for the three nights.​
IASAS offers a limited number of grants to cover registration fees for individuals with significant financial need. Please contact Kat at slgs@iasas.global.

Programme








Ms Colette Cunningham is a lecturer in Global Public Health at the School of Public Health, University College Cork. She is the course coordinator for global health modules, both campus-based and online, including topics like Contemporary Perspectives of Global Health, Migration and Public Health and Humanitarian Emergencies and Crises. Colette, originally trained as a nurse and worked in paediatrics and palliative care in Ireland, UK and Switzerland before moving to Africa to undertake humanitarian work.
She has a wealth of experience working with WHO, UNAIDS, Irish Aid and others and has worked in coordinating emergency healthcare in Haiti after the earthquake, health system strengthening for HIV AIDS in Africa. To date, she has lived in 3 African nations – Rwanda, Kenya and Zambia, and has worked with Ministries of Health in 24 African Nations. Colette’s current work involves international collaboration with ASPHER(Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region) as part of the Task Force group for Emergencies in Public Health and the Task Force group on War. She also collaborates with the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) and was the Co-Chair of the Public Health Humanitarian Emergency Working Group until earlier this year. Colette is a linguist speaking fluent French, Spanish and Portuguese. She is a passionate teacher of global health, the SDGs, and equality for all, hoping to make a difference

Ms Emma Rawson Te-Patu, President of World Federation of Public Health Associations ( WFPHA) From the tribal groups of Ngati Ranginui, Ngai te Rangi, Raukawa and Ngati Haua, in Aotearoa / New Zealand, Emma Rawson-Te Patu is a director of ManuKahu Associates, Indigenous Consultants. Emma is President of the World Federation of Public Health Associations, the first Indigenous woman to hold this role.
Emma is a founding member of the Indigenous Working Group of the WFPHA. She is a Researcher/Trainer, experienced facilitator and proud health promoter. Emma has a Master of Philosophy with Honors (First Class) focussing on Institutional racism in Public Health. Emma an expert advisor recently contracted to the WHO and has been a consultant to the New Zealand Human Rights Commission. Emmas passion is developing training and frameworks for dismantling institutional racism, supporting culturally responsive, human rights based public health approaches and socially/culturally conscious business strategy and organisational development. Emma is working on developing a global Indigenous public health institute in conjunction with broader Indigenous networks working in the global health space.
